BYD France Monthly Sales Report: Sales Surge 403% to a Record High (Jan 2025–Jun 2026)

BYD’s France Sales Hit a New High as June Deliveries Surge 402%

BYD’s expansion in France reached a new milestone in June 2026, with monthly sales climbing to 5,070 units, the brand’s highest recorded result in the market. The figure marks a year-on-year increase of 402%, underlining how quickly the Chinese carmaker is moving from a niche electric-vehicle player to a more visible force in one of Europe’s most competitive auto markets.

The June result also pushed BYD’s French market share to 2.9%, a notable step up for a brand that only recently began building broader recognition among mainstream European buyers. While France remains a difficult market shaped by domestic brands, leasing incentives and shifting EV policy, BYD’s latest performance suggests its product mix is beginning to gain traction.

The Atto 2 was the main driver of the month, with 2,210 units sold in June. Its compact SUV positioning gives BYD a stronger entry point into the heart of the European market, where affordability, range and practicality matter more than headline performance. The Song Plus also contributed 815 units, reinforcing BYD’s strength in the SUV segment.

The sharp year-on-year rise partly reflects a low base in 2025, but the scale of the increase is still significant. BYD is no longer relying only on brand curiosity or early EV adopters. Its June performance shows a broader sales push taking shape, supported by a growing dealer presence, more competitive models and stronger awareness of Chinese EV brands across Europe.

For BYD, France is becoming another test case for its European ambitions. If the company can sustain volumes above 5,000 units a month, it would mark a meaningful shift in the brand’s position in the French market — from a fast-growing challenger to a serious volume contender.
