A growing number of carmakers have been making high-profile visits to Huawei, reflecting a broad industry consensus: the competition in the era of intelligent vehicles is intensifying. 

 A photo of the leaders of Seres, Chery, BAIC, JAC and SAIC standing alongside Huawei executives Yu Chengdong and Wang Yanmin became a signal event for China's smart-car industry.  

JAC's ultra-luxury push with Maextro has already defied some early scepticism.

 Seres listed in Hong Kong under the stock code 09927.HK, becoming China's first luxury new-energy vehicle maker with both mainland A-share and Hong Kong listings.
